ASUS currently introducing their newest desktop replacement laptop. There are many desktop replacement laptops available but ASUS is trying to give better option at affordable price with the release of the ASUS K52F-A1 series. This laptop is offered at $680 which is already using current processor Intel Core i3-370M series. The ASUS K52F-A1 features WiMax and Wireless display technology.
ASUS K52F-A1 comes with 15.6 inch display screen and full chiclet keyboard. 4GB RAM and massive 500GB hard disk capacity is good enough. But, ASUS K52F-A1 is only using Intel GMA HD as the main graphic adapter. As a desktop replacement, this VGA card is not good enough to deliver 3D gaming and graphic design software.
ASUS K52F-A1 was within range of most other desktop replacements in many tests. Based on PCMAG test, it scored 5,045 in PCMark Vantage, not far behind comparable systems like the Samsung R580-JBB2 (5,326) and Acer Aspire TimelineX AS5820T-5951 ($723 list, 4 stars) (5,233).
The Good:
- Powerful processor
- Big RAM capacity
- Wireless Display (WiDi) feature
- Good battery life
- Nice design
The Bad:
- Low end graphic adapter
- Still using DVD-RW instead of Blu-Ray drive
- Touchpad response is not good.
