SONY already launched the new consumer compact camera S Series. Its SONY DSC-S2100/B. This compact camera is powered with 12.1 megapixels, CCD sensor. It has 3x optical zoom with auto mode, smile shutter and face detection features.
The SONY DSC-S2100 design is little but dull to me, and its not using the high quality SONY Vario Tessar lens family. But, SONY offers a good price for this 12.1 megapixels camera, its only about $140, a cheap price for those features. The picture taken with this camera is quite good, bright and crisp, but a little bit darker when on low light condition. The most annoying thing is that this camera is still using AA batteries.
