
The biggest Germany automotive manufacturer, Mercedez-Benz announced that they plan to release the new generation of S-Class Hybrid plug-in version. The product development will use the S500 Vision Concept Model that was displayed at the last Frankfurt Motor Show 2009.
Thomas Weber, the Mercedez-Benz chief Research & Development said, the technology will increase the sale of luxurious sedan of Mercedez Benz. But, the manufacturer has not announced the release date of the S-Class Hybrid Plug-in yet. This sedan emission is up to 70 mpg or less than 100 gram CO2 per kilometer.
The 2010 Mercedes Benz S-Class Hybrid is the hybrid sedan from Mercedes-Benz that combines a 3.5-liter V6 engine with an electric motor to produce a combined 295 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque. The new Mercedez Benz already has the S-Class with pure electricity power driven car and currently available in very limited edition. Upon introduction, the S-Class Hybrid is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 275-horsepower, hybrid engine that achieves 19-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A 7-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.
